3 Sticks butter, softened
8ozCream cheese, softened
3cSugar
2tsVanilla
6 Eggs
3cCake or all purpose flour
1 Dash salt

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Cream butter and cream cheese. Gradually add sugar, salt and vanilla, beatting well. Alternately add eggs and flour until mixed together thoroughly. Pour batter into a well greased tube pan and bake for 1 1/2 hours.

Note: You can make a chocolate pound cake out of this recipe by substituting 1/2 cup of cocoa for 1/2 cup of flour.
